Custom-designed CNC Milling Machine

Summary 🔗
This project consists of a CNC milling machine constructed mainly with laser-cut wooden pieces and 3D-printed plastic parts. The goal was to manufacture a low-cost CNC Mill in order to easily fabricate parts needed for other projects. The main features of this build are:
- The movement is achieved with the use of stepper motors and lead screws. The axes are mounted on smooth steel rods using linear bearings.
- For cutting, we use a 500W mill with an ER11 chuck and an independent power supply.
- The electronic controller is a RAMPS 1.4 board mounted on an Arduino Mega.
- The control firmware is Marlin, with custom modifications in order to fit the use case.
- The 3D modelling was made using OnShape.
